Feds teaching families how to do the moonwalk

The U.S. Department of Agriculture this week offered instructions to people on how to do the moonwalk, a dance move made famous by Michael Jackson decades ago.

USDA provided the information in an activity guide for families that’s largely aimed at helping people eat healthier food, and offering advice on how to stay fit during the summer when kids are out of school.

USDA said it’s easy to moonwalk. Just raise your right heel, slide your left foot back, switch feet and repeat:


The guide also explains how to do the dance move called “Hammertime,” made popular by rapper M.C. Hammer:


The guide included other advice aimed at getting kids away from the television and video games during the summer.

“Stand your ground,” it advises. “Your child may be upset that you are trying to limit screen time. Stay calm and stick to your decision.”
