Former White House communications director Hope Hicks was seen boarding Air Force One in New Jersey late Saturday prior to President Trump’s departure for a rally in Ohio.
It is unclear why Hicks, a longtime Trump aide and confidant, was among those who boarded the presidential aircraft at Morristown Municipal Airport, but she later spoke to journalists off-the-record, according to White House pool reports.

Hicks announced her resignation from her post in February after being one of the first staffers to join the Trump campaign. She had previously been a public relations consultant for the Trump Organization.
Her announcement regarding her exit followed her testimony before the House Intelligence Committee, in which she said she told white lies over the course of doing her job. Her official departure in March also came after her involvement in the White House’s defense of former staff secretary Rob Porter, who had been under fire over allegations of domestic abuse leveled at him by his two ex-wives.
