LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities are investigating a second shooting involving Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies this weekend.
A deputy shot and wounded a suspected drug dealer in a South Los Angeles alleyway early Sunday after the man pointed a gun at the officer.
A department statement says the deputy went to the area to check out reports of a possibly armed man in the alleyway when he encountered the gunman.
The suspect was hit in the midsection in the shooting and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
On Saturday, deputies shot and killed a gunman who wounded a transit police deputy during an earlier confrontation in the Walnut Park area.
