Fimian, Herrity spar on WTOP

Republican congressional hopefuls Keith Fimian and Pat Herrity appeared on WTOP’s “The Politics Program” with Mark Plotkin Friday morning.

The debate stayed relatively civil, though Fimian reiterated his contention that Herrity voted to raise taxes while on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors (while the supervisors raised the real estate tax rate, the average homeowner’s tax bill decreased because of depressed home prices).

Moderator Mark Plotkin also asked, yes, about flag lapel pins (Herrity was wearing one, Fimian was not).

The 11th District Republican primary, which will determine who squares off against Democratic Rep. Gerald Connolly, is Tuesday, June 8.
