Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters cast doubt on whether former Vice President Joe Biden can defeat President Trump.
“I don’t know, but we’ll see,” the California lawmaker said Tuesday.
Waters noted she has not endorsed any candidate running for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination.
“It’s not about who you like. It’s about, now, watching and understanding who can beat Trump,” she said.
Republicans have scrutinized 77-year-old Biden’s mental acuity amid his repeated gaffes on the campaign trail.
When asked whether the gaffe-prone Biden has the fitness to take on Trump, Waters said Trump is racking up his own blunders.
“There’s a whole litany of those committed by him,” Waters said, referring to Trump.
