Nicaraguan immigrant arrested on rape charges

Prince William County police arrested a 28-year-old Nicaraguan immigrant at Washington Dulles International Airport after he inappropriately touched and assaulted a woman he met at a park, according to police reports.

Mario Alexander Paramo, who was in the United States on an expired visa, met the woman at a park, dragged her into her car and began to sexually assault her, the police report said. He then dropped her off at an unknown location and left, police said. During their investigation, police were informed that Paramo may have been attempting to flee the country. He was found trying to buy a plane ticket at Dulles. Paramo has been charged with rape and abduction with intent to defile. – Jeanette Der Bedrosian

Stafford woman accused of abusing foster son

A 33-year-old Stafford County woman was arrested and charged with statutory rape for allegedly having a sexual relationship with her teenage foster son, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

Suzanne Ibsen Collares, who became involved with the foster care program in Arlington, was arrested Monday night at her job at the Rappahannock Area Community Services Board, said Bill Kennedy, a spokesman for the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office. Collares was charged with 10 counts of statutory rape and 10 counts of taking indecent liberties with a child. The crimes occurred in Collares’ Argyle Hills home from the time the boy was 13 to 15 years old, Kennedy said. – Jeanette Der Bedrosian

Silver Spring man faces firearm, drug charges

Maurice Tyrone Collier, 29, of Silver Spring, has been charged with numerous firearm, drug and animal-cruelty charges after he was arrested on Feb. 27 for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, Montgomery County police said. Officers pulled over a vehicle driven by Collier last week and searched the car, finding two loaded handguns and various drugs, police said. A search of Collier’s home on the 3900 block of Ilford Drive revealed additional drugs, handguns and shotguns, ammunition and six pit bulls with scars from fight-related injuries, police reported. – Freeman Klopott
