‘I didn’t’: Weinstein accuser fires back at ‘prolific rapist’ for claiming people have forgotten him

Actress Rose McGowan, who has accused Harvey Weinstein of sexual misconduct, tore into the entertainment mogul after he claimed that people had forgotten about him.

“I didn’t forget you, Harvey. My body didn’t forget you. I wish it could,” McGowan tweeted Monday about the accused rapist. “I refused to sign an NDA after it happened because I knew I would come for you. And I did. This is about stopping a prolific rapist. You.”

She also issued a statement with actresses Rosanna Arquette and Ashley Judd, which said they would not allow Weinstein to “rewrite his legacy of abuse.”

“He says in a new interview he doesn’t want to be forgotten. Well, he won’t be,” the actresses said. “He will be remembered as a sexual predator and an unrepentant abuser who took everything and deserves nothing. He will be remembered by the collective will of countless women who stood up and said enough. We refuse to let this predator rewrite his legacy of abuse.”

Weinstein, 67, said in an interview Sunday that people have forgotten all the things he had done to help women.

“I feel like the forgotten man,” he said. “I made more movies directed by women and about women than any filmmaker, and I’m talking about 30 years ago. I’m not talking about now when it’s vogue. I did it first! I pioneered it!”

The Hollywood executive has been accused of sexual misconduct by over 70 women and faces multiple felony charges in court stemming from some of the allegations. He claimed in the recent interview that the charges had “eviscerated” his reputation. Weinstein reportedly reached a $100,000 settlement with McGowan in 1997 in an attempt to “avoid litigation and buy peace.”
