1. FAVORITE NEIGHBORHOOD HANGOUT

The patio at Firehook Bakery.

It’s amazing to sit by a fountain and read while having breakfast on a Saturday morning.

2. BEST MODE OF TRANSPORTATION

The Circulator. For $1 you can ride in comfort between some of the most congested parts of D.C.

3. FAVORITE LOCAL SPORTS EVENT

The Drag Race. Heels plus drag queens definitely equal more athleticism than the Wizards.

4. BEST PLACE FOR LIVE MUSIC

Jazz in the Sculpture Gardens is one of the more fabulous ways to spend hot D.C. summer evenings with friends.

5. BEST PLACE FOR OUT-OF-TOWN VISITORS

Georgetown is everything a tourist could hope for: Shopping, dining and great D.C. architecture.

6. FAVORITE MUSEUM

National Gallery of Art, especially because they have bottomless coffee for about $2.

7. MOST ROMANTIC SPOT

Watching the lights dance on the Potomac River at night from the steps of the Thomas Jefferson Memorial is the perfect ending to a date.

8. FAVORITE WAY TO SPEND A LAZY SUNDAY

Brunch at Commissary on P Street Northwest (1443 P St.) is great by yourself or with friends. The awesome staff will keep you company if you’re by yourself.

9. BEN’S CHILI BOWL, OLD EBBITT GRILL OR CAFE MILANO?

Old Ebbitt express makes lunchtime the best time of the day.

10. BEST OUT-OF-TOWN RETREAT

The Baltimore Harbor is easily accessible from the MARC or with a rental and the clubs at Power Plant

are always fun.

11. BEST INSIDE-THE-BELTWAY RETREAT

Hair Cuttery, Dupont Circle. A cheap wash and set recharges my batteries for the workweek.

12. FAVORITE MONUMENT

The Lincoln Memorial has the benefits of a quick workout and the satisfaction of reading one of the best speeches of an American president.

13. PROUDEST PART OF LIVING IN THE D.C. REGION

How cheap it is to fly out of D.C. because of the three airports.

14. EMBARRASSING PART OF LIVING IN D.C. REGION

My debt-to-income ratio. It’s ridiculously expensive here.

15. BEST COFFEE SHOP

Caribou Coffee at M and 18th streets Northwest.
