Fox News meteorologist Janice Dean condemned CNN host Chris Cuomo for making light of the coronavirus during an interview with his brother, Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
On Thursday, Dean told viewers of Tucker Carlson Tonight how her mother and father-in-law both died of COVID-19 while in New York nursing homes, for which the governor has faced criticism amid his state’s high coronavirus death tolls.
“I have not seen the coverage of this. You have covered it, Martha’s [MacCallum] covered it, the New York Post has covered it. This should be one of the biggest stories of this pandemic of 2020,” Dean said of New York’s mismanaged nursing home policies amid the pandemic. “Twenty percent of our lost loved ones are from nursing homes. And it’s because Gov. Cuomo, and several other governors, by the way, in different states, forced COVID recovering patients into nursing homes.”
Dean then criticized Chris Cuomo’s Wednesday evening interview with his brother, where Chris Cuomo pulled large cotton swab props he had on set to mock his brother’s nostril size, calling it “inappropriate” given the circumstances,
“Make no mistake, I’m really glad that Chris Cuomo has recovered from COVID because he apparently did have it, and I’m glad that their family is well. But my family is not well. And that’s not something to joke about,” she said.
