Washington, D.C., first responders who will be working on the Thanksgiving holiday are welcomed at the 22nd annual “Thanksgiving on the Mayflower” event.
Hilldrup Mayflower, a moving and storage company, donated the Mayflower truck, which will be parked in front of the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington on Thanksgiving from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will serve gourmet food to them, according to a press release from the Four Seasons.
“Our team couldn’t be more excited to prepare this meal for DC’s finest,” said Executive Chef Oliver Beckert. “It’s a true privilege.”
A team of chefs will prepare some 500 meals for the first responders, including slow-roasted turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, gravy, and cranberry relish, according to the statement.
“Our Thanksgiving feast is one of my favorite events of the year,” said Four Seasons Regional Vice President and General Manager Marc Bromley. “We work closely all year long with the brave men and women who keep our city safe. Being able to personally thank them is what makes our Thanksgiving feast is so special.”
John Seal, the senior vice president of operations at DMV, Hilldrup, said he considers the annual event an honor.
“Hilldrup has a long and proud history serving the men and women who keep our country safe and secure — from active military to local first responders,” Seal said. “It is an honour to support our area’s public servants working this Thanksgiving through this annual event.”
