Report: Perriello to Obama administration?

Outgoing Rep. Tom Perriello, D-Va., won praise from many Virginia Democrats and President Obama for sticking to his guns and supporting much of Obama’s agenda, including health care and climate change, despite representing the conservative-leaning 5th District.

But now that Perriello lost his re-election bid, is there an opening for him in the president’s administration?

Possibly. Obama has told senior aides to think about jobs for ousted members of Congress like Perriello, though no commitments have been made, according to Politico.

Obama famously made a trip to Charlottesville during the final week of the campaign to rally support for Perriello, the only appearance the president made for a House member. The freshman Democrat, though, came up short in his bid for a second term against Republican Robert Hurt.
