A civilian vehicle was “convinced” to stop keeping pace with President Trump’s motorcade by the the Secret Service, according to press traveling with the president.
During the “uneventful” drive, a press pool report Saturday morning explained that on the way to Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Va., from the White House, the motorcade took I-66 to the Dulles Toll Road to the Fairfax County Parkway.
Since the path was open to civilian motorists, the pool report noted there were some “awkward moments as drivers found themselves merging into the rear of the convoy. All decided to slow down and let us pass.”
On the toll road, a pickup truck attempted to keep pace with the motorcade.
“[O]ne blue pickup truck tried to keep pace with the motorcade and was convinced to cease those activities by a Secret Service vehicle; the driver quickly complied,” the pool report said.
Trump did not pay a toll, the report added.
