Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek announced he has completed chemotherapy and is “back at work” to prepare for the 36th season of the hit game show.
“It’s another day at the office, and an exciting day because so many great things have been happening.” Trebek said Thursday, KDVR reported. “I’ve gone through a lot of chemotherapy. Thankfully, that is now over. I’m on the mend, and that’s all I can hope for right now.”
“We have some exciting things coming up, and I can’t wait to share them with all of you. Let me tell you, it’s going to be a good year.”
Trebek, 79, told viewers in March that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He promised to “fight this” and make sure to finish out his contract, which ends in 2022.
