President Joe Biden could make a last-minute swing through Capitol Hill to press his legislative agenda before departing for Europe for a climate summit.
“The president remains open to going up to the Hill. We haven’t made a decision to do that,” press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters on Wednesday.

Senior White House staff, including domestic policy adviser Susan Rice, National Economic Council Director Brian Deese, and White House legislative affairs director Louisa Terrell, conducted negotiations with Capitol Hill lawmakers earlier in the day.
Biden, who will travel to Europe on Thursday to press his climate agenda, had hoped to secure a deal before leaving Washington, but the clock is ticking for negotiators to come to an agreement.

Asked whether a deal could be reached by Thursday, Psaki said, “Yes, we’ll see.”
