New exhibits open in Howard County

Howard County Public School System and the Howard County Arts Council?s annual spring exhibit of student artwork opened on March 14. This year?s Youth Art Month exhibit titled Structures, features 400 works by 600 students grades K-12 in Gallery I. The student works featured in Structures range from 6-foot tower-like sculptures to paintings, drawings and photo collages. In Gallery II, work in oil and watercolor by Vincent Hron and Matt Klos is featured in the exhibit Interiors. Hron utilizes realism with his use of a non-specific narrative in his paintings, capturing ordinary situations that allow for multiple interpretations. Klos is a Baltimore resident with a Masters of Fine Arts from The University of Maryland. He captures and re-interprets the look of light on surfaces.

Structures and Interiors will be open through April 25. A free public reception including music, beverages and snacks will be held on 5-7 p.m. on April 4. Click here for more information.
