Even members of Congress have to listen to their mothers.
Trita Parsi, the head of the National Iranian American Council, tweeted that he was meeting with Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., during the House Democrats’ sit-in for gun control when the congressman’s scheduler walked in and handed him a note:
“Your mom called and wants you on floor!”
So I’m meeting with @keithellison. His scheduler walks in and hands him this note. Meeting ends 🙂 #NoBillNoBreak pic.twitter.com/JwnusZKZuo

“Meeting ends :)” Parsi tweeted.
Parsi’s tweet was retweeted more than 2,000 times, including by Ellison himself.
Ellison also tweeted a selfie of himself on the House floor.
