PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — The Bowdoin College Museum of Art is holding a new art exhibition featuring the photographs, drawings, videos and writings of William Wegman.
Wegman is best known for his whimsical compositions involving his pet Weimaraners in various costumes and poses. He spends his summers in Maine’s Rangeley Lakes region.
The Bowdoin exhibition features more than 100 photographs, videos, paintings and drawings that were produced in or inspired by Maine over a span of more than 30 years. Only about a fourth of the works on display in Brunswick will feature his dogs.
The 68-year-old Wegman grew up in rural Massachusetts and has long been inspired by the New England landscape.
The exposition, “William Wegman: Hello Nature,” runs from July 13 through Oct. 21.
