WATCH: Hurricane Ian relief fund receives boost from Tom Brady

As Florida prepares to begin the recovery process from Hurricane Ian, donations are also pouring in to help the victims.

The Florida Disaster Fund has generated more than $10 million in the first 24 hours following its launch.

First lady Casey DeSantis said at a news conference in Tallahassee on Thursday night that a number of corporations, including Amazon, Boeing, Walmart, Publix, the PGA Tour, and Rumble, have donated.

She also gave special thanks to Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, who advertised the fund on his social media accounts.

“That got a lot of attention and raised a lot of money, so thank you for your support of your community,” DeSantis said.

“Happy [we’re] able to head home for Sunday night, but so many people in Florida won’t be able to do the same. I’ll be making a donation to the Florida Disaster Fund to get things started, and I’m hoping the rest of the NFL family in our state will follow suit,” Brady tweeted.

Ahead of Thursday night’s game between the Miami Dolphins and Cincinnati Bengals, it was announced the NFL was working with the Red Cross to help the victims.

“To help support people affected by Hurricane Ian, please visit http://redcross.org/nfl or text the word IAN to 90999 to make a $10 donation and help those in need,” a league affiliate tweeted.

DeSantis also took time to thank people from around the country who have donated to the cause.

“We are going to make a big difference to help get resources immediately to those who need them most,” she said.
