Former President Bill Clinton spoke Tuesday evening at the Democratic National Committee Convention in Philadelphia, the same night his wife Hillary received the Democratic nomination for president. Around that time or shortly thereafter, the Donald Trump campaign website briefly added a press release page entitled “Bill Clinton Benefits From His Families [sic] Ties To Russia.” The page appears in a Google search of the website as follows:

However, the link actually connects to a July 27 press release announcing the state treasurer of Arizona, Jeff Dewit, as the new Chief Operating Officer of the Trump campaign. (In an odd twist, the URL for the link includes “donald-j.-trump-statement-on-preventing-muslim-immigration”.) The actual press release regarding Jeff Dewit now has its own link as well, here. The Google cache version of the deleted Bill Clinton page is not available and returns Google’s default error message that the page “was not found on this server. That’s all we know.”
It is unclear if the aborted press release was intended to reference information on the Clinton’s ties to Russia that have already been reported, or if the campaign has new information to release.
The Trump campaign did not respond to a request for comment.
