After Donald Trump took shots at an “unknown” challenger in Utah during the election at a rally Thursday night, the man the president-elect made fun of fired back.
“[Trump], seems you’re growing obsessed with a guy whose name you still don’t have courage to say. Say it, Donald. You can do it,” tweeted former independent candidate Evan McMullin soon after Trump brought him up at a rally in Des Moines, Iowa.

During the event, Trump called out “this guy, this unknown person” who was supposed to threaten his chances of winning reliably red Utah on Nov. 8. He neglected to say the name.
Trump won Utah on Election Day with 46 percent of the vote, followed by Democrat Hillary Clinton, who got 28 percent. McMullin was third at 21 percent. Polling, in the weeks leading up to the election, showed McMullin in a tight three-way race with the two front-runners. McMullin is a Mormon who was born in Utah, which has the country’s largest Mormon population.
