Mike Pence zings Oprah, Will Ferrell for campaigning in Georgia: ‘This ain’t Hollywood’

The Georgia governor race might be getting some Hollywood star power, but Vice President Mike Pence wants people to know in the Peach State that he’s a “big deal too.”

Oprah Winfrey campaigned for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams on Thursday and recently Will Ferrell went door-to-door for her too.

Ginning up support for the other side of the aisle, Pence appeared in Georgia on Thursday to campaign for Republican gubernatorial nominee Brian Kemp.

“I’d like to remind Stacey and Oprah and Will Ferrell, I’m kind of a big deal, too,” Pence said during a campaign rally for Kemp, who is Georgia’s secretary of state . “And I’ve got a message for all of Stacey Abrams’ liberal Hollywood friends: This ain’t Hollywood. This is Georgia. And Georgia wants a governor that’s going to put Georgia values and Georgia first. And Brian Kemp is going to do just that.”

Georgia has become a giant in filmmaking, especially in Atlanta, due in part to tax incentives.

Pence claimed that Abrams is “bankrolled by Hollywood liberals,” and said that is not want the people of Georgia want or need.

The 2018 midterm elections are less than a week away, on Nov. 6.
