Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont., is an agent of “gridlock” who has helped delay the nomination of Judge Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court, according to the Judicial Crisis Network.
The group is targeting Tester, a Democrat who hails from a predominantly red state, with a new 30-second ad. Other ads focusing on Senators Claire McCaskill of Missouri and Joe Donnelly of Indiana are still to come.
“Jon Tester is creating gridlock; threatening to obstruct Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch,” a narrator says in the ad. “Neil Gorsuch has bipartisan support, a qualified judge with a record of being fair and always applying the Constitution just as it was written. Tell Jon Tester: stop the obstruction, confirm Gorsuch.”
JCN has spent $350,000 on the television and digital ad in Montana as of Wednesday, and will spend $1 million on its first three ads in Tester’s home state. The ads are part of a larger $10 million effort from JCN aimed squarely at Senate Democrats.
