Heche’s driving, which was captured on video obtained by TMZ and occurred hours after an episode of the actress’s podcast went up, led social media users to speculate that she was intoxicated during the accident.
The episode in question was deleted shortly after speculation began. In the episode, Heche and co-host Heather Duffy revealed that they were drinking alcohol, both vodka and wine, and Heche explained that she had a difficult day.
At one point, Heche asked listeners to keep their “fingers crossed” that they even make it through the recording session. She was reportedly slurring her words heavily throughout the recording.
“We each have a bottle in front of us because our friends sent us a bottle [of] Re:Find [vodka],” Heche explained. “And we are drinking it — with wine chasers.”
Explaining her drinking, she said, “I don’t know what happened — sometimes days just suck,” adding that it was one of her “no good, very bad days.”
A representative for Heche reportedly insisted that the podcast, now deleted, was recorded several days prior.

“Lynne and her family very narrowly escaped physical harm, and for that we are very, very grateful,” according to a fundraiser set up for the tenant. “The home, however, was completely burned — with 59 firefighters taking 65 minutes to extinguish the flames — and immediately red-tagged by the LAFD, necessitating that Lynne leave the place she loves.”
The fundraiser has racked up nearly $67,000.
