Actress Helen McCrory died at the age of 52, her husband announced Friday.
The British star, known for her roles as Polly in the BBC drama Peaky Blinders and as Narcissa Malfoy in the Harry Potter series, died after battling cancer.
“I’m heartbroken to announce that after a heroic battle with cancer, the beautiful and mighty woman that is Helen McCrory has died peacefully at home, surrounded by a wave of love from friends and family,” McCrory’s husband, actor Damian Lewis, wrote in a statement. “She died as she lived. Fearlessly.”

Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling responded to McCrory’s death, saying, “I’m devastated to learn of the death of Helen McCrory, an extraordinary actress and a wonderful woman who’s left us far too soon. My deepest condolences to her family, especially her husband and children. Simply heartbreaking news.”

McCrory appeared as Clair Dowar alongside Daniel Craig in the 2012 James Bond film Skyfall.
