Hasan, the Army psychiatrist accused of killing 13 people and injuring 32 in a shooting rampage at Fort Hood, Texas, in November, appeared in court Tuesday at the base for the first time since the shooting. A hearing was been scheduled for Oct. 4, where a judge will hear witness testimony and decide whether the case should go to trial. Maj. Hasan lived in the Washington area much of his life and worked at Walter Reed Army Medical Center as recently as mid-2009.
