PHOENIX (AP) — A Benson woman is the newest member of the Arizona State Parks Board.
Kay Daggett will replace Reese Woodling, a Tucson resident whose term expired earlier this year.
The appointment was announced Thursday by Gov. Jan Brewer.
Daggett has worked for the city of Sierra Vista for more than a decade and is currently its public affairs manager.
She is a member of the Arizona Tourism Alliance and is a former member of the Tourism Advisory Council, Governor’s Motion Picture and Television Advisory Commission, Cochise County Tourism Council, Arizona Film Commission and Arizona-Mexico Commission.
Last year, the state Legislature changed an Arizona statute to have one member of the Parks Board who would be professionally engaged in the tourism industry. That’s instead of having two members in the livestock industry.
