A Fairfax County businessman has admitted that he harbored illegal immigrants so they could work for him.

Taesan Won, 37, pleaded guilty to harboring illegal aliens for financial gain on Tuesday in federal court in Alexandria.

He operated a “doumi” business in Fairfax called Honey, which provided female companions to patrons at karaoke clubs, bars and other businesses. Won knowingly employed women who didn’t have authorization to work in the United States at his business, according to court records. Most of the women had entered the country on student or tourist visas.

Won was arrested in May, after he approached Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials last year, telling the agents that some of his competitors were employing illegal aliens, hoping that ICE would target those businesses. But ICE discovered illegal workers at his business in the course of that investigation, court documents say.

Won could face up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced Sept. 2.
