Sen. Dianne Feinstein thinks former Vice President Joe Biden has the credentials Democrats need to defeat President Trump in 2020.
“My candidate would be Joe Biden,” the California Democrat said Thursday, according to CNN.
“Joe was chairman of the Judiciary [Committee] when I came to this place, I’ve watched him as vice president, I’ve seen him operate, I’ve seen him perform,” Feinstein, 85, told Politico. “He brings a level of experience and seniority which I think is really important.”

Feinstein’s support for Biden is conspicuous because her fellow California Democratic senator, Kamala Harris, is also eyeing a 2020 presidential campaign.
Several early polls have shown the former vice president leading the 2020 Democratic pack. Biden, 76, served in the Senate for 36 years before joining former President Barack Obama’s ticket in its successful White House 2008 run.
Biden sat out the 2016 election, citing the death of his son, Beau, who died from brain cancer in 2015.
