‘We’re doing great together’: Trump slams Jim Acosta for asking about Fauci’s whereabouts

President Trump took aim at CNN’s chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta after he asked why Anthony Fauci was not at the daily coronavirus briefing.

“And where is Dr. Fauci?” Acosta asked the president near the beginning of the Friday press conference.

“I don’t know. Bu,t every time you ask that question whenever he is not here, and you say, ‘Where is he. Is there a problem?’ No problem whatsoever,” Trump said. “Sometimes, I’ll ask him to come because that’s the first question you and a couple of others from fake news establishment ask.”

Fauci has attended some but not all of the president’s daily press briefings. Both Trump and the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases have sought to tamp any speculation that the pair are feuding.

Last month, the president shared a clip of Fauci defending their relationship after rumors of internal disagreements surfaced.
