Gov. Bob McDonnell, who’s been mentioned a possible vice presidential candidate on the Republican’s 2012 national ticket, said Tuesday he doesn’t believe there should be a “truce” on social issues, as had been suggested by Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels.

“These issues go to the heart and soul of what we believe as a people,” McDonnell said.
