Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., on Monday ruled out a possible independent run for his Senate seat, after a report surfaced claiming that he gave a group his blessing to poll him in a three-way general election contest.

“Not gonna happen. I subscribe to the old saw Running as an Independent is the future… and will always be the future,” he tweeted, indicating he doesn’t think he’ll ever run as an Independent.”
