The Senate Judiciary Committee announced it will vote on the nomination of Sen. Jeff Sessions for attorney general on Jan. 24.
The Alabama Republican is expected to easily win the committee’s approval, despite objections from Democrats who have questioned his support for voting rights and civil rights.
His nomination will then move to the Senate floor, where he is expected to easily clear a majority needed to win confirmation.
