Mark Levin: James Comey and his ‘cabal’ should get the ‘Donald Trump treatment’

Conservative commentator Mark Levin said on Thursday that former FBI Director James Comey and his “whole cabal” should be subject to a criminal grand jury.

In a Fox News interview, Levin called on a slew of former FBI officials to “get the Donald Trump treatment,” a reference to an alleged political scheme to undermine President Trump. He called out Comey, as well as former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, former FBI general counsel James Baker, former FBI agent Peter Strzok, and former FBI lawyer Lisa Page — all of whom are tied to the Trump-Russia investigation.

“What ought to happen here is, there ought to be a grand jury impaneled. Comey should give testimony, McCabe should get testimony, Baker should get testimony, Strzok, Page, the whole cabal should be giving testimony. They should get a little bit of their own medicine,” he told host Sean Hannity.

“We should have a criminal grand jury, and we should have either a special counsel or a United States attorney take charge of this case and get to the bottom of it. Put these people under oath and let them get the Donald Trump treatment. We want all their documents, no privileges, nothing. Drag them in and maybe drag their kids in too,” he added.

Comey and the FBI have come under scrutiny for the handling of the Trump-Russia investigation, with allegations of politicization, improper surveillance, spying, and Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act abuse.

During a CNN town hall Thursday evening — marking the two-year anniversary that Trump fired Comey, the former FBI director said he is confident that Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s investigation will not find that he or others around him at the FBI did anything wrong, but “if the truth was there was something concerning, then let’s hear it.”

Special counsel Robert Mueller wrapped up his Russia investigation in March. According to his report, released by the Justice Department with redactions, Mueller found no criminal conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia. Mueller also details 10 instances in which Trump might have obstructed justice in his 448-page report, but he declines to say either way whether Trump committed a crime, citing a Justice Department guideline that sitting presidents cannot be indicted.
