Author Stephen King is walking back a tweet in which he said a train crash that involved Republican lawmakers was “karma.”
“Of COURSE sorry the truck driver died,” King said after some pointed out his original tweet was insensitive.

Hours later, he apologized, calling it a “rather thoughtless tweet.”
“I apologize (if one is necessary),” he wrote, also pointing out that Republican lawmakers with experience in the medical field helped those who were injured.
A rather thoughtless tweet from me concerning the train-truck crash, for which I apologize (if one is necessary). It should be pointed out, too, that those Republican politicians, who can be heartless when they vote, immediately got out to help.
