EPA pick Pruitt: Climate change not a hoax

President-elect Trump’s nominee to head the Environmental Protection Agency said Wednesday that he does not agree with his potential boss that climate change is a hoax.

“I do not believe climate change is a hoax,” Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt told the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee during his confirmation hearing Wednesday.

Pruitt made the statement in response to questions by Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., who is a noted climate change stalwart. He follows Trump’s nominee to lead the Interior Department, Rep. Ryan Zinke, who said during his confirmation hearing on Tuesday that he also does not believe it is a hoax.
