Russian agent Maria Butina has been transferred to a Florida prison, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Butina will serve the remainder of her 18-month prison sentence at the Tallahassee Federal Correctional Institution, a low-security facility, her lawyer Robert Driscoll told the Washington Examiner.
Driscoll said Butina likely arrived at the Tallahassee prison Tuesday night.
Earlier this month, the 30-year-old Russian national was being held at the Grady County Jail in Chickasha, Okla., until her transfer to a federal prison facility.
A federal judge sentenced Butina in April to a year and a half in prison but gave her credit for time she has already spent in jail. She was arrested in July 2018.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons lists Butina’s release date as Nov. 5, when she is expected to be deported back to Russia.
Butina, who pleaded guilty in December to failing to register as a foreign agent with the Justice Department, filed an appeal to her prison sentence earlier this month.
