WHAT: To build the center, the board is using $617,000 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, as well as requesting an additional $2.5 million from the federal government’s Economic Development Administration.

WHY IT’S AN OUTRAGE: According to the center’s director of administration, the push to complete the project is: “We need to get the Prosser Wine and Food Festival a place to locate.” How is this a national priority demanding federal funds?
