The White House announced Sunday that Malia Obama will be attending Harvard University.
“The President and Mrs. Obama announced today that their daughter Malia will attend Harvard University in the fall of 2017 as a member of the Class of 2021,” the White House said in a statement, adding that Malia will take a gap year before beginning school.
Both Barack and Michelle Obama attended law school at Harvard.
Malia, who turns 18 in July, is a senior at Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C.
Photos posted to social media reportedly showed Malia wearing a Harvard class of 2020 t-shirt at Sidwell’s recent college signing day event.
