More people see Trump as ‘honest, trustworthy’ than Clinton

Donald Trump is posting higher favorability ratings than rival Hillary Clinton with less than one week until Election Day.

A Fox News poll released Friday evening found the Republican nominee was seen as “honest and trustworthy” by 38 percent of likely voters. The Democratic candidate had 31 percent. Clinton was seen as untrustworthy by 66 percent of people, while 58 percent admitted having concerns about Trump.

When it comes to being seen positively, 43 percent of voters have a favorable view of Clinton and Trump. The billionaire businessman barely performed better in the unfavorable category, with 55 percent viewing him unfavorably, shaking off a few points from one week ago. The former secretary of state was seen negatively by 56 percent of respondents.

Although Clinton’s approval numbers fell slightly, likely voters said they were not significantly influenced by last weekend’s FBI development.

Five percent of Democrats said they would be less likely to support Clinton on Nov. 8 due to the new emails and investigation into the Clinton Foundation’s connection to the State Department. More than 20 percent of independents said they are less likely to vote for her.

The poll was conducted by landline and cell phone with more than 1,000 likely voters. Anderson Robbins Research and Shaw & Company Research administered the survey. The margin of error for approval rating questions was between 2.5 to 3 percent. The independent question had a 6.5 percent margin of error, and the Democrats’ had a 4.5 margin.
