‘Everybody has a plan for something, right?’: Kamala Harris takes veiled swipe at Warren slogan

2020 presidential hopeful Kamala Harris took a swipe at her primary competitor Elizabeth Warren during MSNBC’s Wednesday evening gun town hall.

Harris jabbed at her fellow senator’s unofficial slogan of having “a plan for that,” which is a phrase Warren has repeated on the campaign trail many times when asked about policy questions.

“By the way, another part of my intention, I’m not going to say plan, everyone has a plan for something, right?” the California senator stated in a mocking tone of voice.

“I’m talking about what I fully intend to do is to put a nurse, put a nurse and a social worker in every school,” Harris said. “Because that’s not what’s happening in America today. It’s not happening. So again, let’s look at what we’re talking about safe and healthy communities. Often the first time a child will have an interaction with someone who is not a relative of that child, which means the first time someone who has fresh eyes on that child, will be when they start school.”

Harris has consistently trailed behind Warren in the polls in recent weeks as they have gone in opposite directions since the middle of the summer. Warren currently has a polling average of 24.4% while Harris is at 4.7%, according to RealClearPolitics’ average poll.
