Scoop: Guess who’s hunkiest? It’s Hugh

Move over, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, Matthew McConaughey, George Clooney and Matt Damon … make room for Hugh Jackman.

On Wednesday, the hunky star of screen and stage become the first Australian named Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine.

The 40-year-old hottie was up against the likes of Javier Bardem, David Beckham and Daniel Craig.

“Women’s jaws drop when Hugh walks into a room,” said Nicole Kidman, who co-stars with Jackman in the upcoming epic “Australia.”

Jackman — who has been a married man for more than a decade to actress Deborra-Lee Furness — told People his wife’s response to hearing of the honor: “Obviously, Brad [Pitt] wasn’t available this year.’”

Separate lives?

It seems that every time Gwyneth Paltrow so much as goes to the ladies’ room by herself, rumors swirl that she and hubby Chris Martin are on the rocks. Case in point: Page Six is up in arms about the fact that the Oscar winner opted to go to the Victoria’s Secret fashion show in Miami rather than join the Coldplay rocker on tour — like, you know, a dutiful groupie wife should.

The column apparently finds it eyebrow-raising that Gwyn, per a so-called insider, “flew down privately at the behest of Jeff Soffer,” the owner of the Fontainebleau hotel, where the runway show was staged. The billionaire allegedly gave the star a private tour Friday of the newly remodeled hotel, and went yachting with her and Kate Hudson on Saturday. (A Gwyneth rep says Jeff is “a friend.”)

“She spent the summer filming a TV show in Spain with Mario Batali, and now, instead of hanging out with her husband, she goes to a Victoria’s Secret show? Really?” carps one source. “Gwyneth doesn’t have anything to do with Victoria’s Secret. If things were so great with Chris, why wouldn’t she be with him?” (Note that fellow guests Diddy, Alex Rodriguez and Martha Stewart don’t have much to do with the lingerie brand, either.)

Marriage mistake

More revelations are emerging from Britney Spears’ ultra-candid MTV interview, “For the Record,” which airs Nov. 30. The pop icon confesses that — brace yourself — her marriage to Kevin Federline was a mistake. No, really?!

“I think I married for all the wrong reasons,” Britney muses in just-released footage. “Instead of following my heart and, like, doing something that made me really happy, I just did it because … for just, like, the idea of everything.”

So our Brit has finally figured out what was readily apparent to the rest of us back in 2004. Well, it’s a start!
