The Los Angeles County Coroner has completed its autopsy of Sage Stallone, 36, who was found dead in his home on Friday.
The results, pending a toxicology report, will be released in four to six weeks and should put to rest all the rumors surrounding his death.
Many news outlets are reporting a possible overdose, since it was confirmed by law enforcement officials that pill bottles were found at Sage’s home at the time of his death.
In light of all the speculation, Sage’s father, “Rocky” star Sylvester Stallone, has issued a statement asking the public to respect his son’s memory and to be compassionate toward Sage’s mother, Sasha Czack.
“This agonizing loss will be felt for the rest of our lives,” Sly said. “Sage was our first child and the center of our universe and I am humbly begging for all to have my son’s memory and soul left in peace.”
The investigation into Sage’s death has been turned over to the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division. The department doesn’t suspect foul play, but this division generally takes over in high-profile cases, E! News reports.
And to make a sad situation even sadder, the famed Westboro Baptist Church has decided to get more publicity out of this tragedy.
Margie Phelps, the daughter of church leader Fred Phelps, sent out a tweet urging their followers to picket Sage’s funeral.
Meanwhile, the New York Daily News is reporting that Sage’s cousin Edd Filiti, 18, posted a message on his Facebook page suggesting that Sly was partially to blame for his son’s death.
In the posts, which have since been removed, Edd claims Sylvester had cut Sage out of his life, devastating him.
The one that got away
Though they’ve been living separate lives for several months, the divorce between Katy Perry and Russell Brand was finally finalized Monday.
Under California law, there is a mandatory six-month waiting period before a couple can be officially divorced.
Katy, 27, and Russell, 37, married in October 2010, and the comedian filed for divorce in December 2011.
In Katy’s documentary, “Katy Perry: Part of Me,” it was revealed that Russell wanted children right away and Katy felt she was too young to become a mom.
