Former presidential candidate and Vermont Gov. Howard Dean announced on Twitter Thursday that he is running to become the next chairman of the Democratic National Committee.
In a tweet, Dean said that it’s time for Democrats to get organized and “focus on the young,” adding that they need a “fifty state strategy and tech rehab.”
“I am in for chairman again,” Dean added.
The dems need organization and focus on the young. Need a fifty State strategy and tech rehab. I am in for chairman again.

Dean is the first to enter his name for the position, which is currently held by interim chair Donna Brazile, whose term ends in March. He previously held the position from 2005-09 before then-Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine took the reigns.
The 2004 presidential candidate, who became known widely for the infamous “Dean Scream” after his third-place finish at the Iowa caucuses 12 years ago, was a backer of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton throughout the primary and general election campaign.
