‘A really, really bad sign’: CNN’s Dana Bash blasts Warren over performance in home state

CNN political correspondent Dana Bash took aim at Sen. Elizabeth Warren for not performing better in Massachusetts during the Super Tuesday primary.

“The fact that Elizabeth Warren, the senior senator from Massachusetts, cannot be declared the victor at all and, not only her, but Bernie Sanders, who is the neighboring senator who has campaigned hard there, also cannot be declared the victor, is very, very telling that Joe Biden is still in the game there,” the host said Tuesday as initial results came out from the state. “We really don’t know what’s going to happen there. That is a bad sign for Elizabeth Warren.”

“A really, really bad sign,” she added.

After the release of early results, Sanders is expected to win Massachusetts, which would likely mean that Warren would not win a single Super Tuesday state.

The Massachusetts Democrat has pushed back against calls for her to drop out of the presidential race as she has not registered a top-three finish before Super Tuesday. “I persist,” she said when asked about dropping out.

Competitor Michael Bloomberg told a reporter he “didn’t realize she’s still in” the race.
