At least one person was killed in a crash on the Beltway early Friday morning, authorities said.
About 2:41 a.m., police were dispatched to the accident, which took place on the inner loop near Connecticut Avenue, said Maryland State Police Sgt. Todd Weaver.
A tractor trailer collided with the rear of a car, and at some point the car became engulfed in flames, Weaver said.
At least one person is dead, Weaver said. Details about the number or conditions of other people involved in the incident weren’t immediately known.
