Members of conservative media outlets are being criticized for drawing connections between Dr. Anthony Fauci and some of World War II’s worst figures.
During his monologue on Monday, Fox News host Tucker Carlson labeled the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases a smaller version of fascist Italian dictator Benito Mussolini.
After saying that 81-year-old Fauci “really shouldn’t be driving a car,” Carlson said the Italian American went insane after taking over the “most powerful country on Earth.”

“After two years of nonstop media adulation, Tony Fauci has morphed into an even shorter version of Benito Mussolini,” he said.
Carlson then played a tape of Fauci discussing how he feels about being targeted for doing his job.

“I’m just gonna do my job,” Fauci said in the clip. “If they get up and criticize science, nobody is gonna know what they’re talking about, but if they get up and really aim their bullets at Tony Fauci, well, people can recognize there is a person there. So it’s easy to criticize.”
Carlson said that by referring to himself in the third person and labeling himself and his position as a representative of science, Fauci believes he is a deity.
Prior to Carlson’s comments, Lara Logan, a host for Fox News’s streaming service, drew a connection between Fauci and Josef Mengele, the Nazi doctor of Auschwitz known as the “Angel of Death.”
“What you see on Dr. Fauci — this is what people say to me, that he doesn’t represent science to them,” she said. “He represents Josef Mengele — Dr. Josef Mengele, the Nazi doctor who did experiments on Jews during the Second World War and in the concentration camps.”

During his time at Auschwitz, Mengele indulged himself by selecting which prisoners would be sent to the gas chambers and carrying out a myriad of experiments. These included the castration of boys, sterilization of girls, removal of limbs and organs, immersion into freezing water, and injections of dyes in the eye.
He celebrated Jewish holidays such as Yom Kippur by ordering the gassing of roughly 1,000 children.

In 2021, Logan declared that actors including Fauci have kept the truth about the true nature of the coronavirus from coming to light and that the suffering that has resulted from their actions, including the “obliterated” economies, cannot be justified.
