Trump floats Giuliani to take on Islamic terror ‘problem’

Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump floated former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani to head a commission to tackle Islamic terrorism Wednesday.

Trump told Fox News Wednesday morning that there is a “problem” that needs to be dealt with, pointing to his “temporary” ban on Muslims entering the United States as a possible solution. He then mentioned Giuliani as someone who could lead a task force to help combat Islamic terrorism.

“It’s a temporary ban … and we’re going to look at it and we’re gonna study a problem,” Trump told “Fox & Friends.” “We have a problem. Now, if you don’t want to discuss the problem, then we’re never going to solve the problem. We have a president that won’t even use the term ‘radical Islamic terrorism.’ He won’t use the term. He refuses to use the term, even after Paris, where 130 were killed, or San Bernardino, or any other place.”

“It’s a real problem, not only here but throughout the world. It’s a real problem,” Trump continued. “So we’ll figure it out and we’ll get it going. But we have to be extremely careful.”

“In fact, I am thinking about setting up a commission, perhaps headed by Rudy Giuliani, to take a very serious look at this problem,” Trump added. “But this is a worldwide problem and we have to be smart.”

Trump first made waves back in December when he called for a “total and complete” ban on Muslims entering the U.S., which was denounced roundly by his Republican and Democratic opponents at the time.
