Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani on Sunday slammed President Obama’s “lackadaisical” attitude toward terrorism.
“The president — the kindest thing I can say — is he has a lackadaisical attitude about” terrorism, the Trump surrogate said during a radio interview with John Catsimatidis. “He treats it like these are at worst individual criminal acts.”
Giuliani, who previously said he turned down two Cabinet-level positions within Trump’s administration, also praised how the president-elect will handle terrorism.
“I think we’re going to see a more peaceful world because we’ll have a president who’s going to put his foot down with regard to this radical Islamic terrorism,” he said, adding that Trump knows “the goal of the United States of America has to be to wipe out radical Islamic terrorism.”
Trump sees the fight against terrorism “as a war, and he’s going to deal with it that way,” Giuliani said.
Giuliani also is co-chair of Trump’s transition team. He says he finds the transition to be “the best” he’s ever seen.
