President Trump’s former longtime fixer may tell lawmakers little of what they want to hear when he testifies to Congress early next month.
Michael Cohen won’t shed light on special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, his legal adviser Lanny Davis told MSNBC’s “MTP Daily” on Friday.

“Anything to do with the Mr. Mueller investigation, he does not want to comment on, nor will he during the Feb. 7 hearing,” Davis said.
BuzzFeed News reported late Thursday that Trump directed Cohen to lie to Congress about negotiations for a Trump Tower project in Moscow. Cohen, who has been interviewed by Mueller’s team, pleaded guilty in November to lying to Congress about the proposed building.
Davis would not confirm whether the report was accurate.
“I think I have an obligation, as his lawyer, first of all to follow the client’s instructions. Secondly, to honor and respect Bob Mueller,” Davis said.
Cohen has expressed concern about the safety of his family after he agreed to testify before the House Oversight Committee. Trump has repeatedly called for an investigation into Cohen’s father in law.
“There is fear that Mr. Trump has supporters either in this country or maybe abroad that have a motivation to harm [Cohen or his family],” Davis said, declining to clarify if he was talking about the Russians.
