The media’s worst-kept secret is over: CNN’s Anderson Cooper has told the world he’s gay. Washington reporters put out a barrage of sarcastic tweets (“Shocking, I know,” wrote media critic Howard Kurtz), but they were rebuked by Politico’s Dylan Byers. “Please tell us all again about how you already knew Anderson Cooper’s sexual orientation,” Byers tweeted. “Coming out is a very big deal. It took 45 years.”
